I've heard that previews have been sent around for a new GTA game. Anyone know anything about this?

Postal II also lets you kill lots of people, but in a larger range of ways.

It is glorious stress relief after a day at the office (well, there are others, but this being a family orientated board......)

yeah, but the freedom is based completely around being completely morally bankrupt. no other game lets you brutally murder someone, then kill police by the hundreds in many beautiful ways. Sometimes I used to play that game and actually grin at the glorious a-moral destruction.

I say used to as my PS2 died, I can't wait for it to be released on tha XBOX

The freedom is good but there's only a limited number of things that you can do in that "freedom" so after a while it gets boring.

The freedom in games such as the GTA series is great; How else can you steal a whole load of cars, and get money for it, without interference from the main story? Genius from Rockstar.

Looks like another gimmick game to me, made to cause a bit of controversy like State of Emergency. Might be interesting if Rockstar actually put more effort into making a decent, long lasting game that doesn't seem like it's been made solely to cause a bit of a stir in the media.

We'll see anyway, but until I hear a confirmation of Mafia 2 I refuse to excited about all these open city, free roaming games that are being made these days.

"There's only so much you can milk from a franchise anyway, so Rockstar are going to have to come with some new ideas if they want this series to continue on as long as it has been."

I read this quickly and missed the "if they want this series to continue on", simply reading "Rockstar are going to have to come with some new ideas"

Looks like they are going to up the anti for violent games. Personally, I can't wait :)
