WWF With Authority
Being completely new to Internet Gaming, and Card Trading Games, I was very reserved going into this game. I love the WWF and I love Strategy games so when I downloaded it I was downloading it for these reasons. A massive 40mb on a 56k modem, I was stunned to realise that it was a card game. Still I thought I may as well have a go, it took 7 hours to download it. Well I loaded it up and was really impressed with the graphics, and went into the tutorials. I was kind of disappointed that it is basically all on-line, but the shock was that you have to buy your cards! Could this get any worse? Well actually after my initial dismay, I started to get into the game a bit and enjoyed beating the hell out of X-Pac with the rock in the training game. After a few fights against Triple H (There are only 3 offline fights you can have) I decided to fight online. Well some of the players are really experienced, and I was beaten easily by some of the experienced guys, but against people of my own experience I was holding my own well.
The game is very strategically linked and can be quite complex, but at the same time, if you are new it caters for that. In order to stop ‘Newbie bashing’ the rewards are small, so it gives you the opportunity to learn without getting to badly beaten. There are loads of people to play, all with there own wrestlers and moves, to many to mention. Don’t like some of the moves you have got, well trade them for some better ones. If you like submission build a playbook (a group of cards) around submission. You control all the moves, and everything else> Of course there are loads of great wrestlers there, HHH, The Rock, Jericho, Kane, and many others but also there are updates, and the cards are of differing rarity, making this an absolute blast. At times it can be frustrating, but on the other hand it is just as rewarding. I would definitely recommend this game to any strategy and especially WWF fans. If you love collecting cards this may be for you. It is yet to take off in England really but hopefully it will very soon. Because the WWF and THQ are really on a winner here!
