As you can no longer submit reviews of worms Armageddon in the review section I will post it here.

This is my review of worms Armageddon.

Finally the worms have arrived on the n64, with a huge arsenal of the most dangerous weapons on hand these are the world’s most lethal worms in the world.

The game has five different game modes, here they are.

Deathmatch: In here you compete against computer teams to unlock different game modes, locations and new weapons.

Quick match: this mode allows you to start a match quickly as the computer randomly chooses the locate and teams so you can get started quickly.

Multi Player: Here you can challenge your pals to a match.
before the match you get to choose your setting.

Mission: In this mode the goal is to complete the objectives in a certain amount of time, if you run out of time you will either go into sudden death but in most cases your team will drown.
You can also unlock new locations and weopons in this game mode. Note: you must complete certain phases of training in order to play the missions. You also get a limited supply of weapons and ammo, so use them wisely.

Training: This mode allows you to train up your team. there are certain objectives to be completed in a time limit, and if the objectives are completed within the time limit you will be rewarded with a medal.

Depending on your teams’ performance in training you are awarded either a Bronze Silver or Gold medal, you also get a bonus weapon if you get a gold medal in certain modes.

The weapons there are a huge array of weapons at your disposal here are just a few.

Sheep launcher: This weapon lances sheep and if used properly can cause considerable damage.

Banana bomb; This is a mean weapon it's like a cluster bomb only it splits up into bananas instead and when it hits it's target boom boom boom boom.

Cluster bomb; one of the more basic weapons. On impact it releases smaller bombs and can cause loadsa damage.

Grenade: The most common weapon you will come across in this game it’s small but very effective.

Pneumatic drill: This is very useful when faced with confined enemies, you’ll find out as the game progresses.

Freeze: This is a defensive weapon, it stops any attacks and damage caused by the enemies, but it doesn’t work when faced with rising water.

Teleport: This weapon is used mainly when you are in a potentially disastrous starting position.

Mine: Another handy weapon used to catch out your opponent, but watch out there are several randomly positioned mines placed in every level.

Uzi: Here is one mean weapon and it inflicts a lot of damage.

These are just some of the bind blowing destructive weapons that are at you disposal.

The random level generator.
The random level generator creates thousands of possible variations in the levels and where the mines are placed in each level. So the random level generator supplies hours of endless fun.

Summed up?

Worms Armageddon is great fun for all the family and being the best platform game ever you would expect nothing more or nothing less.

This game is a must have buy this game I did and I did not regret it.

From the second you begin playing this game, you can tell it will be a laugh all the way through. And it is!

Games don’t come any funnier than Worms Armageddon. You take control of an army of small worms, armed to the teeth with big guns. Two separate ‘cults’ of worms have been battling it out for years, and now you must take control of one side, and make the decisive strike that will bring an end to the conflict.

The game is a 2D-platform type, turn based game. Although some elements, such as the worms themselves and some of the weapons are ‘3D’, the backgrounds and environment are 2D, making it a 2D game. The levels are well crafted, and have a lot of variety, with a lot of strange objects scattered about. You may be in a peaceful green field, with an angry polar bear grazing on a hill! The landscapes can all be blown up, and are set on ’Worm Island’, so there is water on all the levels.

Your team of up to five worms has a whole host of weapons at their disposal. These range from simple shotguns to poison skunks, from bazookas to mole bombs, and from baseball bats to kamikaze bombers. During a level, crates rain from the skies, often containing health bonuses, weapons or utilities.

There are many different modes of play to chose from, including quick start, death match, multiplayer, training, and of course, the infamous single player. But before you can play these modes, you must create your own team of worms.

First, chose a team name. Then you must name each worm individually, within a character limit. Next, you must chose a flag to represent your worms, and a gravestone to honour your dead. Then you can move onto the fun part. Character voices. You can chose from a number of different accents, voices and styles, each with funny comments during a game. There are Geordie worms, worms from London, Russian worms and many more. During a game, when one of your worms dies, collects a crate, fires a weapon etc., it will say something in your chosen voice. They can say things like ‘ouch!’ ‘Kamikaze!’ ‘I’ll get you!’ ‘Revenge!’ and many more. You must also choose your team’s special weapon. Chose from flying sheep, mole bombs, flamethrowers, and more! Now that you have your own team, you are ready to play!

Chose quick start to play a quick game against the computer, using a randomly generated team and landscape.

In death-match mode, you pit your team against an increasing amount of enemy worms. Each time you beat the computer, more enemies will be present in the next game. On the final death-match level, you are outnumbered three to one! You can also earn your team new weapons to use in later matches, and the multiplayer.

Training is where all worm commanders must begin. Take one of your worms through a series of training scenarios, designed to get you used to weapons and movements; as well as to test your skills. Earn medals along the way to prove your skills, and open up the single player missions while you are at it!

Now for the best part of Worms Armageddon: The single player. With over 20 missions, it will have you addicted for years, and you probably still won’t be able to complete the last level! The graphics in the single player mode are superb, especially for 2D. In the first mission, you have only one worm, and a handful of weapons, and like most; there is a time limit. The levels range from easy to near impossible, with you getting more worms, weapons and experience along the way. The computer AI is normally very good, although once you’ve played it a lot, it becomes very predictable. The sound effects are good and hilarious, especially when a worm hat has just lost all it’s health blows itself up with a plunger, while saying ‘Bye Bye!’

And now, finally, the multiplayer. There is only one mode available: death-match. And it’s all it needs. All of the fun, class and graphics from the single player, but with your friends! All the weapons you earn in death-match come in useful here, especially if your friend is using a freshly created team!

This is a classy game, and the funniest you’ll ever buy. Great graphics, sounds, game-play last ability and missions make your N64 collection incomplete without it. And, for £9.99, it’s a must buy, even for those on a tight budget! Brilliant, 10/10.

I had the PSX version for a while, the worms look tiny compared to the PC version but it's not bad.

Worms Blast is out soon for the PS2, hope thats a bit better.
