Talented writers on 16 and above, anyway, sorry Ant :-( .

WHSmiths are running a competition for aspiring novelists out there. To enter you have to write the first chapter of your book - well, between 500 and 750 words, I think, and a 500 word synopsis of the whole novel.

The winner gets £5000, a course in writing, and help to complete the novel.

There are also many runners up prizes out there too.

You have until November to enter, and application forms, and more information can be gathered from a WHSmiths store, or their website.

I'll dig up the URL later, and post it here for you.

So get writing, and maybe some of us will be shortlisted amongst the top 6!

I would enter but it requires talented writers and I'm not talented.
