Konami Co. Ltd. has announced today that the North American release date for Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty for the PlayStation 2 will remain unchanged and is on track for this November.

According to a press release, "Initially, Metal Gear Solid 2 would have included a scene showing the World Trade Center building. But due to the recent terrorist incident, we have decided to remove that particular scene. The theme of the game focuses on the establishment of peace. Therefore, there will be no change in the plot of the game."

Meanwhile, retailers in Japan have reported that Metal Gear Solid 2 could be released November 29--two weeks earlier than the initially announced December 13 date. But the press release only mentioned that the game will be released "on schedule as originally planned."

Well if the scene does get deleted from our version it wont be too bad will it, if it were important then they would keep it or add a new one...which is probally what they have done.

I should imagine the scene will be deleted for our version - I keep hearing it will be out around Feb/March time for the UK!! I dont think a release date has been confirmed as yet though!!
