ANYWAY, with light to my extreme annoyances at complete * winning games and dvds like nobody's business from copying another person's reviews, and getting away with it. Clearly the 'internet filter/search' blah blah blah thingy doesn't work at all, so here is something that I feel could help stop people like Atomic Koala winning prizes for doing a c+p job.
Problems: people are winning that never post on the forums in disussing, and it's damn annoying. We do all the talking, we help make the site good, and then people who no one has ever spoken to on here, goes and wins a game for a review (possibly copied) of something like, oh I don't know, an unreleased football game perhaps. Takes the Urine, don't it.
Right - Dan, hasn't won in ages, Dan doesn't give a monkey, as Dan does not own a monkey, but would buy one if asked, anywho new rules to be implimented, as agreed by Tony, with any luck:
You can only be entered for the 3 gameaday prizes if you have an entry, naturally, but you can only enter if you have been a discusser on the forums for 14 days. I.E we will have gotten to know you, you will be respected, or not, and your writing style will be recognised - if you cANknot Sp-hell to save ur lyfe in discuccing n'd thenn gO nd possed an absolutely amazing review with incredible use of vocabulary and exceptionally well written, then we will know that it must be copied, or at least have suspicions aroused.
JAT'S cannot win, seeing as you must be a member for a minimum of 14 days.
Anyone found to be copying reviews after having 'their' prize sent to them will have their address told to us so we can go and pay them a visit...
Dan2K1 must win at least once a month or he will regain sanity, and you do not, DO NOT want that to happen.
Reviews of games that have not yet been released cannot win. Especially two within a week, of the same game. Talk about variety...
ALL posts be checked out, and for those members who do not have a DVD player, they can have an account whereby if they win 2 DVDs, they can exchange that prize for a Game instead, of equal or less value.
Thank you
Tony, read the above, some makes sense.
Dan
In my opinion, that rule sucks!
It says you can win Gameaday by submitting your own reviews and cheats, and for submitting your own posts in ukchatforums.
It doesn't say that you have to become part of an online community first.
Ok you have to register to win, however it doesn't mean you have to be on 14 consecutive days to do this. When I first became a member over a year and a few months ago, I was only on the internet an hour a week! I didn't have the ability to be on here for 14 days. If I had to be it would have taken me over 1/5th of the year to have any chance of winning. 14 weeks!
Everyone has the chance to win and that is totally fair.
I agree that reviews copied from elsewhere shouldn't be allowed to win, and they should be checked, especially if it's a new member posting them, but regulars should still be treated the sme and have theirs checked.
But you have to agree, that with three choices being made a day, it's difficult to do that. If you type in part of a review to be searched on the net, you could end up with thoudsands of webpages to check through. Also you've got to check magazines past and present to keep up.
I know why you're saying that members should be here for a certain amount of time before being chosen as a winner, because as far back as I can remember, new members have been winning on the days they have registered on, which shows a bit of an unfair element in the competitions, however I haven't noticed it so much recently.
> I think that this post is pretty elitist really.
There's the nail getting hit on the head. Now, I in no way work for Special Reserve or pretend to know their business plans, but I'd place huge piles of money, the house, car and family on the fact that Gameaday is used to attract new customers to the site. It isn't to reward the community that just happens to have built up.
Winning GAD is nice, very nice in fact. However, what's wrong with new people winning and never turing up again? If their post was judged to be the best that particular day then they diserve it just as much as anyone else would have.
Ali is a nutcase.... have you ever seen him eat a Walnut Whip... my goodness, he's a monster!
And there's nothing left of a Mc Donalds... even the crappy fries at the bottom are completely devoured leaving trails of salt blood where they once stood!
Apparantly...
^_^

Why would I agree??...Well, Iv'e been a poster and contributor for a good bit now and haven't won a thing.
I'm merely stating a point, Ive seen myself sitting going over a review's and topic's taking time with them; and seeing other reviews especially, being picked for the competition over my own,-which are usually (or in most occasions)not as good as the ones iv'e written. And the winner is usually someone nobody's heard of, or hears of again.
I'm not complaining, so don't go saying Im a moaner and a sore loser. I enjoy being on these forums airing my views and opinions.
It's just that I think Iv'e been on here long enough to prove to people that I'm genuine and here to stay.
