The attacks on America, an issue and topic that has definitely affected all of our lives in the past week, and something that will go down in history, and will never be forgotten. The fact that discussions of war are now all over our news programmes and papers shows that these attacks were not a good idea, especially in the view of the people of Afghanistan, the country that will probably end up in a ‘holy war’ with out American cousins.

Naturally I am dead against war, and I was absolutely stunned by what had happened in the USA, I think it touched everyone of us, and made us think how fragile and precious life is – some people have lost theirs, some 20,000 are thought to be dead as a result of the horrific hijacking of the planes that crashed into the World Trade Centre, into the Pentagon as well as the other plane (or planes) that were shot down, or were crashed down. Images will stay in our minds for a very long time, and I hope you took part in the national 3minute silence on the Friday after the disaster.

So, what is going on with society? Is it so hard to accept that people have different beliefs and religions? Is this all what it comes down to? Acceptance? Violence and racial dispute is going on across the world, and the UK is no exception. Everyone is the same in that everyone is different. I have heard this many times, and yet why do we find it SO hard to accept this common similarity? Maybe we’re scared or maybe we can’t comprehend change, difference and something that might not agree with what we believe. I just hope that the world learns from what has happened. We’ll live in a peaceful, free of war world.

Seen the television shots, photos in the papers, and you’ve heard the news. You’ve heard what Mr Bush has to say, and yet the whole issue of terrorism is not as straight forward as it seems, like many things in life. The IRA – one of the most infamous terrorist groups in the world, people that are responsible for bombings in the UK, and possibly more. Tony Blair says we are at war against terrorism, that we back America, and yet the USA is partly responsible for the IRA? Why is Mcdonald’s giving a percentage of their profits to fund the IRA? I don’t know the whole story behind that, but why is this being ignored?

Bin Laden. Most hated man on earth since Hitler? Who knows, but this man is the prime suspect behind the travesty that has happened in New York and in the USA. I am still in shock of what has happened and all of my sympathy and condolences go to the families that have lost loved ones and friends, and I hope that things can return to as near normal as humanely possible. But why us war going to break out? Resolution to happen as soon as possible will be the best bet for humanity, if war breaks out, more people will die, more innocent people.

What can happen now, what ‘will’ happen? Will Afghanistan become even worse off with more starvation and more poverty, but what can one United Kingdom citizen do to prevent war, but what can anyone do? Does Tony Blair’s decision revolve around what the country thinks because I’m sure as hell I haven’t been asked about my views - war on Afghanistan is not war on Terrorism, it is war on a nation, and it will only create a thousand people like Bin Laden.

Be good, don’t dwell on a fear of war breaking out, instead do something to help prevent this. The next couple of months could be very, very important indeed. Justice? Or revenge? In my view, I would have voted for Al Gore as president.

Anyway, thanks for reading. Attacks on America suck big time, and I hope things are resolved soon. The world does not need more Bin Laden’s, we need more Mandela’s and more respect.

TheAttacks on America? Possibly the most horrific attack on civilization since the world wars, the loss of life, the shear terror and destruction, and the whole world’s involvement – our hearts go out to those involved, and I pray that peace can be restored as soon as possible.

This is an act of inhumanity, of pure evil, pure hatred and has no place in society today. Please do not start to panic about a war breaking out, although Mr Bush has stated that the USA will treat the terrorist attack as though it were a war, do not go into a mad frenzy about a world war. It will not happen, ever again. We will make sure of it. There is a war on terrorism, I am not completely agreeing with it, but it's going to happen. But a world war - no.

I was completely stunned about what happened, as I am sure a lot of people were too, the news reports – in the papers, the radio, the general atmosphere even in this country, it was completely breaking news, and many people were killed, the death toll is rising, and it could be as much as 25,000 people who have lost their lives in this absolute tragedy.

This was more than an attack on a building, this isn’t a terrorist group seeking revenge for past happenings, this is an act of utter brutality, and nothing, nothing, at all can justify what has happened.

If any well known organisations or charities start an appeal for money, perhaps a nationally run campaign, in this country, then I recommend that you give something towards it – I know that in the USA, the Red Cross there are doing something like this, I am not sure if it will extend to our country.

Naturally I was devastated by what happened, whoever has done this has no morality, but would hunting them down and killing them really be the solution? Who knows, but I just hope that lives won’t continue to be lost, and I really feel for those in New York, the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives – words cannot express the loss that our world has suffered – when America sneezes, the world catches a cold – when America gets attacked, then who knows what happens.

Live in the hope that peace and love will be restored, I am sure it will, and we can only make sure that it does. War is evil, terrorism is too, the world does not need acts like this, we do not want them maybe one day humankind can learn to live together.

I am running out of words to say, but take a minute when you’ve read this to think of those in America, and hope that things will improve.

Thank you for reading this I feel very strongly about this subject.

Too true mate.
It's shocking if you spend the time finding out this stuff.
There are probably thousands of similar things that I'm not even aware of. (if anyone does know of dubious business actions, let me know here please).

I found out about Domino's Pizza being used to fund The Domino Foundation by watching The Mark Thomas Comedy Product when that used to be on.
He got a job delivering and handed out leaflets with every pizza he delivered telling the customers about the use of their money to fund pro-life organisations that plan, assist and carry out the bombing of abortion clinics and the murder of doctors in The States
(And Osama Bin Laden is different because?..oh yeah, he's Muslim and killed a few more, that's right. I forgot)

Greetings Wookie.

Nice points about McDonalds.
Dominos are just as bad, The Domino Foundation is an American charity with "Christian" beliefs.
Fine, except part of their belief is to fund and encourage Pro-Lifers in their continued action of bombing abortion clinics and murdering doctors that perform abortions.

Nice, I'll have a large Meat Feast please

I agree, didn't know about the McDonald's thing though, that seems a bit strange, and highly controversial in my opinion.
