well DK was in the old version and he is owned by Rare. but i suppose the first ninty game ever was based on DK.
Nintendo and Rare are so close that it's likely that characters may cross over.

i don't think that the likes of BK will make it into SSBM cos they are not NINTENDO characters, they are RAREWARE characters, and so far all characters in the game are nintendo characters, do you get what i'm saying?
