What would the Bible, the text upon which Christianity is based advise upon such a situation in which the US (and it's allies)find it's in.

In the Old Testament, God spends most of His time destroying cities, flooding the world and sending down plagues upon innocent humans.
In the New Testament, He has changed His spots and becomes a God of Love.
Do not consult the Holy Bible, think for yourself: consult your own soul for answers.
The Holy Bible is chock full of contradictions: it should be renamed The 'Holey' Bible because consistency-wise it's full of holes. Get it? The HOLeY Bible!!.

I find it best not to think about religion when considering this - relgious fanatics did it, so I get confused.
