Anyone know exactly how backwardly compatible the PS2 is to the PS1. I thought all PS1 games would run fine on the a PS2.
Tried saving a game of Medievil 2 and it claimed there were no memory cards inserted........Any ideas?....

Yes if you play a PSone game on PS2 with a PSone memory card in, you will be ok
You have to put a PS1 mem card in slot 1 to save ps1 games.
Mortak Kombat 3 doesnt work either. I found a list of which that dont work, and that was on it. I cant remember the others, but it was only about 15 or so max.

Metal gear solid special missions will NOT RUN on a ps2, we've almost cracked it with a ps2 compatible ps1 xplorer code so it may do very soon :D
You cannot save PSone games on PS2 memory card
