Theres no such thing as bad advertising... any is better than none.

Look at who the ad campaign was intended at... Americans... the same people that go bananas in Disney land each year when they see Mickey Mouse... they would have lapped up the Marios and loved every minute of it, clever by Nintendo if you ask me and certainly bound to be effective.

They should have had them going... "It's a me, Mario!" every few seconds to passers by.

well gamecube sales in us have quadrupled...not that i really know what the sales were like before :/
