The X-Box is the most powerful console yet and it hasn't even been released. The Microsoft team created this monstrosity, so it's bound to be very exciting.
We've seen some early footage from the X-Box with such games as Munch's Oddyssey and it's all gob-smackingly-good! The graphics are ever so sharp and the audio seems well-tuned.
A lot of the features such as Online Capabilities are yet to be commented on in detail and at the moment, it seems as though there is no net access. I believe that this will change soon. The company that pioneered the internet should be able to have it on their own console. Come on!
My support is with X-Box through the "console wars" but they have 1 threat, and it's name is NINTENDO!
It's not without competition though. Can it beat out the Nintendo Gamecube? My first outlook was yes, but I'm not so sure now. Gamecube had a very powerful launch, despite the measly 3 games for show. I think X-Box will end up 2nd in the Console Wars in a years time. The PS2 had a very poor launch with some pathetic launch titles but other developers such as Microsoft should learn from this and not follow suit. In a years time, we should all know what the superior console is.
a) The PS2's launch was nearly twice as successful than the GC's.
b) MS and Nintendo are pitching to totally different markets
c) It's widely accepted that Sony are MS's biggest threat.
