I've just read in the Metro and apparently from next month a book of nude photographs for the blind is being made.

Using a thermoform plastic, they raise each image and use Braille to describe what it shows. It is to be sold for £150.

Now it's one thing to be diverse, but a picture book for the blind? I guess everyone has the right to read and appreciate images, but I would have thought landscapes and artistic masterpieces may have been recreated instead.

After all, it could have been looking at the featured images that caused them to go blind in the first place...

I think they're only £3 from a machine... oh wait, they're the sheep... :p

Knowing some people, £150 is enough to hire a real person I am sure!

I think Stevie Wonder would do pretty much anything for £150. 2 blind people engaged in intercourse. Now that would be interesting...

Nude photographs? Surely for £150 youd want a real life naked person to touch? :P

I'd pay £150 to hear a speech programme talking about "Blind Pornography".

As Butch pointed out, it really isn't that difficult for someone who's blind to use a computer and/or the internet.

Blind people would use a speech program to describe what is on the screen. We have more than one customer who calls us with this set up.

I agree that £150 is a bit on the expensive side, couldn't you buy a 'Blow Up Betty' for about £20?

And are these things going to be available on the top shelf of the local cornershop or are they on special order? Presumably on special order as to have several copies of 'Braille Breasts' in your shop at a price of £150 each would be ludicrous, burglar heaven methinks. How does a blind person then order from the internet? Braille keyboard with a braille screen? Or do they subtly ask someone to order it for them? Embaressing for the blind person or what... Whoever came up with this, dare I say, idea, didn't have their thinking hat on.

It is a bit of a rip-off.
