Okay, so not the end of the world, but another little reason for me to feel not-so-jubilant today.
Well, there goes our rather optimistic hope of going the whole season unbeaten. We can't even go 5 games unbeaten.
It says something about our chances in the champions league this season, too - they're small. We've now let in 10 goals in five games - one of the worst defensive records in the premiership. You shouldn't score three times and lose a game, and we can't afford to.
In my view, our defense was the only weak area of our team last season, so what do we do over the summer? Strengthen our midfield and attack, who have already been breaking goalscoring records for a few seasons running.
Selling Jaap Stam wasn't a smart move either. None of the comments in his book, when read in context, were the least bit offensive - so I only hope for Ferguson's sake that he was truthful when stating that it was unrelated to his departure. I'm undecided on Laurent Blanc so far, but I hope he turns out to be a decent replacement. The only other decent defender we have, is the fast improving Wes Brown. Those aside, we have a highly over rated and under performing defence.
This sort of result was on the cards from the start of the season. I was just hoping it wouldn't happen.

I wouldn`t swap Keane and Veron together for Patrick Viera who is the best player in the world.

The year United won the treble they were outclassed in every match between Arsenal and Utd.
You only have to look at the replays: but for poor finishing and incredible luck, Arsenal would have hammered Utd and Liverpool the last two seasons.

oh, and did anyone see Martin O'Neil after the Juventus game?! lets just say he was very...emotional. But still, so would i would i be after a penalty decision like that.
Todays game was okay, but it wasnt exactly against Europe's elite. Still looked very dodgy at the back, and we were very lucky to get the win.
But still...First English team to get three points this year...

Yeah the defense was crap. But it was only blanc's second game. You cant exppect him to fit in straigt away. Who knows if blanc will even be a regular in the team. I think when Ronny Johnson is 100% he and Brown will be the main men in defense. Either that, or Ferguson should really think about playing keane in defense.
Lose. You have no defence, like we had in that one game.
