Nup, it's March 2004.
I wouldn't get Rogue Leader. Not that it's a bad game, but Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike (November) contains the entire game as a co-op mode so, economically speaking, you should really hold on for that. Steer clear of Starfox Adventures too - it's good fun the first time round, if slightly lacklustre, but you won't play it again. But if you're still convinced, I'll sell it to you.
Super Smash Bros. Melee is of course a must, and a bargain at £19.99 in the Player's Choice range. Buy a copy of the excellent Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker also, and make sure it's one with a bonus disc - they're running out fast. You definately wouldn't go wrong with Mario Sunshine and Metroid Prime, either, both £19.99 in the Player's Choice range.
I wouldn't get Pikmin, Sonic Adventure 2 or Wario World. Pikmin will soon be bettered by a sequel in time for Christmas, so buy that instead. Both Sonic Adventure 2 and Wario World weren't very good either - pick up Sonic Heroes and Wario Ware in the future.
The Resis are all good choices, apart from perhaps 2 & 3 and I'd also recommend Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, Skies of Arcadia Legends and Soul Calibur 2. Looking towards the future, good thinking towards F-Zero GX, Mario Kart and Mario Golf. Also look out for Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, Mario Party 5, 1080: Avalanche and Viewtiful Joe - all in time for Christmas. Then there's 2004, but that's another story...
I expect you'll also need a Wavebird and extra controller, and a decent memory card - the official 251 is good.
1. F-zero (£43)
2. Burnout 2 (£35)
3. LOZ: The wind Waker (£40)
4. Timesplitters 2 (£35)
5. Hitman 2 (£40)
6. Smugglers Run: Warzones (£10)
7. Mario Sunshine (£40)
8. Metroid Prime (£28)
9. Tony Hawks 4 (£35)
10. Splinter Cell (£35)
Thats just a few mind... the ones I tend to play the most.
My top lot are:
1: Wind Waker
2: Super Mario Sunshine
3: Metroid Prime
4: Timesplitters 2
5: Eternal Darkness
6: Soul Calibur 2
7: Skies of Arcadia: Legends
8: Resident Evil: 0
9: Resident Evil
10: Pikmin
Oh and not to forget Super Monkey Ball 2, Product Number: 03 and so on.
Oh and get Viewtiful Joe when it comes out later this month.. oh yes.
But whatever floats your boat.
Pikmin is a must buy. Splinter Cell is worth completing.
Good choice in buying a GameCube mate :o)
Super Mario Sunshine
Pikmin
Super Monkey Ball 2
Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker
Conflict: Desert Storm
Skies Of Arcadia: Legends
Madden 2004 (well, I love NFl anyway :-D)
Games that are soon out (some out already in America) that are must buys:
F-Zero GX (out in the States)
Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour (out in the States)
Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Conflict: Desert Storm 2
Star Wars: Rogue Leader 3: Rebel Strike
Zelda is also amazing, but also on your list.
