I have been looking to update my graphics card from the 32mb geforce 2 to something bigger, I want to buy nvidia again because i think that they are better then any other card (in my opinion) so i was looking at something like the GeForce 4 Ti 4600 or the GeForce FX 5200 I dont want to spend silly money on it. If anyone out there has either card i would like to here what you have to say about them.

Going against your original post - I'd personally go for the ATI 9600pro mate.

Ti4600 will have a lot more grunt than an FX5200.

As previously recommended in this post, go for the Radeon 9600pro - I've got an FX5600 256mb and am a bit disappointed by the card to be honest; definately the weak link in my system. I'm quite confident my next card will be an ATI one.

Just my 2p worth.

9600 Pro would be a good choice. In Halflife 2 it offered great performance and was easily the best card in money to performance sense. Geforce Ti4600 is pretty powerful but is only direct X 8 where as the 9600 Pro is direct X 9.

Same here. Great card, don't know why I put off buying it, and it runs pretty much everything I throw at it at full detail. Only cost me £140 as well.

Is that the 9800 Pro or not? My 9800 Pro runs amazingly. Best thing I did was think about buying a decent card to go into my newly built PC. Before I had a Geforce 2 MX200 which was crap.

Whoops my mistake, my card is actually a Radeon 9600 pro. Damn bleeding, confusing numbers ;)

Anyway it's still a great card, better than my last one anyway which was a GeForce 4 420 MX (PCI), the increase in detail and speed from my new card compared to the old one incredible, it should be enough to power Half-Life 2.
