"We are the future Generation of Mankind"
Well what about the Future of Gaming. What is the Future of Gaming? If you think about it right now WE are the future of Gaming!
If we stopped buying games now there wouldn't be a future for games would there?
But also there is another point of view on this subject that covers both the Future of Mankind and the Future of Gaming.
What we will be doing in say 10 years time? or even 5 years? Or 1-2 years for some of you oldies. For me being just about 14 it is at least 5 years.
-Some of us will follow in the footsteps of their parents doing whatever it is that they do.
-Some of us who have extremely rich parents will live in wealth when they pass away.
-Quite a few of us plan to be successful webmasters and run successful websites like Special Reserve and make quite a bit of dough from it.
-And another load of us will take on a normal job like the military, medicine, teaching etc.
So most of us that take an interest in games and internet but not enough to want to do it for their life and get a normal job goes towards the future of mankind ie doctors and teachers and still buy videogames keeping them alive.
And the rest of us will be the ones making the games and internet sites and selling them.
So what do you want to do? Is it something not listed here or is it something clearly talked about in this topic?
I myself hope to be a successful webmaster and eventually help and start to develop games. By studing and learning about HTML, Java, Basic Programming, do it in my GCSEs then do ICT in Uni/College.
Then while in Uni start a website hope it gets quite popular and make some money from advertisements then maybe start and online store and go from there.
But we all need something to fall back on if what we want doesn't come like the people in the Life and Fotball and sports forum probably want to be professional footballers or something but most of them wouldn't make it into and team like ManUTD so would need an education for a proper job.
So with ICT training etc. Which most of us in here want to do, you could get a job at a secondary school ICT teacher, or in the army/RAF computers. Easily.
So we are all not just the Future of Mankind but Gaming as well. So a lot of people might say Virtual Reality machines in every house along with adsl Internet etc. and 50ghz computers when they hear Future of Gaming but that really isnt what it means. As it all depends on what we do now. Whether most of us go on to develop and buy games and computers, or others work a profession and buy them from the websites we make?
What do you think?
:-)
But for now WebDesign is my main thing because once that is done I could eventually have a team so it wouldn't be such a hard job, and I could get a job with a games developer maybe and work on that.
But I have ages to get good!
But Strafex if you take like www.MACROMEDIA.com and you build a site like that once you are good at making software like FireWorks/Dreamweaver! Then you could sell them for stuff like the prices there (300-£1000) and make some big bucks and do what you like to do
(apart from making money :-D)!
P.S I noticed your tag!! Banjo-Tooie? I won that game a while ago and just recently completed it!! Flicking between Kirby 64 and BT!
My favourite land was Terrydactyland being both of the T-Rex's and using those ClockWork Kazooie Eggs is fun!! :-D
ZP
I'm going to be a programmer.
I'll hopefully get a job at Rare but if not (or if, God forbid, I grow out of computer games) then I'll proberly work for a more serious software company.
At the moment though, I want to join as a programmer at Rare and work my way up to Games designer.
