Loads of people are posting war-inducing posts lately, and then loads of others are posting anti war posts - posts that say "Why can't we all just get along?"
Recent events have proven that we all can get along. We all know that our "Nintendo is for kids" quotes are as lighthearted at our "Sony is for sequels" quotes. Fair enough if people start saying "X-Box is for tos**rs" but we are mature enough not to go that far (as proven).
But we cannot ban the console war. People have their own opinions, and people have the right to defend their opinions against others. We all know eachother well enough be now to know that when people take the mich out of the other side's machine it is done in jest, and though we have our favourite machine, can see the merits of others.
Without console wars this place would feature tumbleweed. Arguments and jokes and lighthearted banter make this place what it is. Arguments are fun, and for as long as they remain fun, they should stay.

Res Evil on the GC? They will all have oversize cartoon heads and shoot nerf guns at brightly coloured zombie mushrooms!

Like you said, it's all lighthearted fun and just something to do in between releases.

I'll carry on where Slaveunit left off:
They clearly gave it too many new and innoative ideas to put it back out on the Playstation.
They needed an audience that could accept originality for it to sell! :-P

I am all for it! I recon as long as people take it lighthearted, as it is meant, that console wars are a laugh.
It's just that it all goes a bit pear shaped when people take personal offence to it, which was the point of the thread.
Take it on the chin, and give as good as you get people. It will allways raise a smile that way. :)
