Seeing as lance fighters aren't too accurate against normal fighters, i'm sure that if a squadron is overwhelmed with about 50 of them, then they wont last long. it's also incredibly cool watching the powerful pulse of the trinity cannon in action. three painful smacks in the jaw for their shipyard...like BOOM, BANG, BASH, and then watching several explosions on the hull, followed by massive blue sparks emanating from the splits, then finally tilting, ready to explode with a massive creek - then FLASH!!!!
This is the kinda thing that makes you chuckle with pride, especially after originally expecting a bleak future, as i was forced to jump to the rock bottom of the map, containing a huge cluster of RU, as my fleet was destroyed, and my extra flagship was decimated by the cruiser that came out of nowhere (it belonged to the unlucky player I wiped out above), and so with 14000 RU's already bagged from before, it was good enough to start from scratch with all my research completed, and a team of collectors making about 6, and a carrier that survived. I must have stayed well hidden, because i thought i paused it when i went to wrap a pressie for my sister, but i hadn't. luckily it remained untouched.
After all, it's no fun working so hard, just to have the world and it's wife knocking on your door with everything they've got...
I'd say these kind of games are the essence of the whole concept. It's good to get a challenge, but it's gotta be easy enough to stay in the game for a long time.
Believe it or not, i'm playing n easy CPU! It's quite a surprise, as it's much more unpredictable than any other game. they don't leave their MS sitting around anymore - instead they kinda 'migrate' to the nearest resource pocket. This means it's not so easy to locate their central location, as they spread out aswell. when i managed to nick the CPU's MS, i thought i had them out of the game, but not so - as they had a shipyard sat far away, ready to crawl in - but they crawled in far too close to my MS, and so they ended up scattered into Debris. Salvage party!....
It was a 4-player game.
