Didn't realise you had Live. Should pop your tag in HHATs Definative Live thread so he can update it.

Thing is with Mech Assault is how you approach the game. Its not a game that involves any real skill, its about positioning. Anyone who tries to run off all gung ho on they're own will get a kicking, the idea is to position yourself well among your team mates, try to pick up the power ups without breaking away from your group to get any that are at a risky distance and thats about it really.

Its not particularly difficult to become a Mech Assault pro - the board is full of basement dwelling cheaters anyway. They play the game 24 hours a day and either set up games where they're a Ragnarok against a bunch of Elementals, or just disconnect whenever they are getting kicked in.

I've noticed with the NFL Fever games, it notes on your profile how many times you've disconnected from a game (looking at the board). All online games should do this and seeing as they can actually record down that you've disconnected, they should also be able to add penalties to your record too besides another notch to your disconnect total.
For example, if its an NFL game, it should also add a loss to your record, plus that you got beaten by 100 points more than what you were getting beaten by.

Games like Mech Assault and other shooting games could add more deaths to your total, things that will really dent these sods online records. If its a co-op game like you can do on Ghost Recon, then penalties aren't really needed because its against the CPU. But its unfair that people compete online, only to have wasted their time because the opponents they come accross simply run off when they're losing. In fact, I wonder if there are actually any REAL decent players at the top of the online boards cause any I've encountered have always disconnected when they're losing. Unless this sort of penalty idea is dished out, the board will just be left with average players (if that) at the top who only get there by playing a game for hours everyday and just run off when someone better comes along.

Well hammering the fire button is all there is to most shooting games ;)

But there can be skill in it, if you're spending all games in it getting like 1,2 , kills per own death then that's not good. With the right mech, and practice, you can run rings around people.

One game I always remember, last November, team game with 4 a side, 4 brits and 4 Americans. 2 of our team bailed out, leaving 2 on 4, we still gave them a kicking 'cause we had light mechs versus heavy ones. Firepower is no good if you can't hit :D

Online is 1000 times better.

You like Mech Assault? I thought that was pretty gash to be honest, just hammer the fire button and hope for the best.

Played the SOF2 single player and nearly laughed at how bad it was. Hope LIVE play is a bit better, actually make it a lot better.

That's the problem I had and I think everyone had when they first got the game. You need to go to optimatch, then select the game type you want to play (I recommend elmination) then you should get a long list of games.

The search thing on SOF2 is a little slow so a lot of them time it does look like no-one's playing. There's tons of games going on, you just need to tighten up your search when looking for 'em.

I'll be on about 10pm tonight if you're around, just add me to ya friends list and I'll show ya how to really play SOF2.

My gamertag's MonkeyAssasin.
