Seems pretty pointless to me, wouldn't make much of a difference to a normal TV. Better saving and buying a better system for the sound.

Unless you are going Dolby Digital don't waste your money. Only a few PS2 games support Dolby Digital anyway.

If U want to buy a decent sound system that lasts then I recommend getting creative labs speakers and subwoofer, I cant remember the exact model number but go into any PC world or dixons and they should be there for under £40, they come in 2 speakers or 5 speakers. The sound quality is great especially the bass.

I must say they are the best speakers Ive ever bought and are incredibly cheap!! They connect into the "headphones" socket so u can use them on TV`s (Therefore any console), Stereos, minidiscs. Ill try and remember the name...

Its manufactored for gaming and the therefore you are limited to the number of audio channels that your system can use. Get a standalone Dolby Digital/DTS surround sound system. You could pick up a decent one for around £250!

Argos do a no-frills Dolby Digital set for £100.

But as the guy is looking at speakers in the £20 range I think it's a little outside the price bracket he's looking for.
