Anytime you want to have a chat about pixel pipelines, floating point precision or DX9 code paths, then please start a thread - it would be interesting to say the least. We will then see who is the ‘supposed’ tech head and who is talk BS for no reason.

A few people on these boards do know what they are talking about.

Oh and if you make an informed decision concerning the Hardware you buy for your PC, you should never have to 'justify' the produced you have bought because it'll be the best you can get, for your money. The only people who have to justify what they have in their comp are people who buy there hardware blind, and this means if they don't know what they are buying from their own knowledge, they should ask - on, say, a PC chat forum!

And the guy who started this thread should get the 9600 XT, or if that is too much cash, as said, the 9600Pro is also an excellent card.

Absolutely right. The 9600 pro is an asskicker, you should always buy the best card that you can afford.

Well Goatboy I think you should reconsider your opinon, as from what I've seen of gamezfreak and Uncle Albert, they are experts in their field and know alot about computers and computer hardware/software, and they are not "techno heads", simply knowedgeable. So, n00b, I think you should take whatever advice gamezfreak and Uncle Albert gice you as it will be trustworthy and given by someone who knows their stuff.

I'd say it's worth it if you can get it for the price quoted there.

Don't ask whether anyone thinks it's worth it.
You'll get negative opinions from supposedly tech-heads, those that don't have anything similar and feel they have to justify their own purchases, or "Yeah! I luv it!!!"

I say its pointless to purchase that card.

You know why? Because it's got 256mb of memory, Games/applications at the moment don't really need such an excessive amount of video RAM, so it will go unused. 128mb is fine, and I suggest going for the 9600PRO or the 9600XT because they peform better then the non-pro version.

Go on www.ebuyer.co.uk and type "51440" in the search box - Thats the graphics card you want :)
