Does anyone know if there is any type of a lead or cable that can be used to connect a PS2 console to a TV that has no scart socket.

If so, what is it and where can it be got and any idea of price

PS1 controller does work, but some games do need a PS2 controller as they make use of the pressure sensitive buttons (which the PS1 version doesn't have). Most PS2's should be sold with a controller anyway.

Thanks Doc.
I am going to buy the kids a PS2 (Santa presie). They have a PS1 and an old 20" TV which is going fine. I am sorta new to the consoles and that is why I was asking the question about the lead and controller.

No point in splashing out for things that are not necessary. I know you will all be calling me a miserable b****** - probably true.

Anyhow thanks to everyone for the replies and no doubt I will be in need of assistance in the future.

I have a lead for a PS1 and I will give it a try.

Does anyone know if the PS1 controller works with the PS2

Aggghhhh! Get a new TV - ariel or video leads are awful. Don't be satisfied with anything less than S-Video, RGB SCART if at all possible.

Probably easier to find an original Playstation AV cable, it works just as well on the PS2.

Definitely. Almost all decent games selling shops should sell them, and I'm sure this site is no exception. There are plain old av style cables, just plugged in via your aerial socket. Try the search box with something like "ps2 cables" or "ps2 av cable" or something.
