I played the original, but never tried the second which is supposed to be a bit more hit and miss. At the end of the day, like all MMORPGs, it's about the community and who you play with.
In the first version I played with a group of guys I know from another forum, who in turn in trouduced me to a bunch of guys in game who we formed a clan with. That made is so much better as you not only had people to help you out when you were struggling, but could just use the game as a chat room with all sorts of bells and whistles. You've also got to learn the joy to be had of bothering people who take the game all too seriously!

Yup, but having said that you get a good idea during the first few levels how everything works, how to upgrade skills, do quests, kill stuff and get stuff. From that I got a good idea how bland it would be at level 100 wearing all the best items killing all the top bosses.
It's a good game, nice depth to it, but I couldn't face logging into such a bleak world everyday. Plus the first time you see another player running on the spot or jittering about the screen? If kinda ruins the realism.

I'm guessing the demo is the full game, but with a restricted time. Bit hard to do a sample of a game in a genre that's attraction is it huge size and go anywhere possibilities.
I got to level 6 and uninstalled. 'Bland' game if ever there was one.

Maybe the End User Licence Agreement is about 650MB or something. It's Microsoft after all...
Dear GOD! That is ludricrous! What do you get in the demo? Could this see a return to the Doom-style shareware approach or merely a game stuffed full of hefty media? I'm betting the latter...
