"This week's edition of gaming bible Famitsu carries word of a "shock" announcement relating to Capcom's Resident Evil series, which will feature in the publication next week. The announcement is apparently nothing to do with Resident Evil 4, which is currently scheduled for release exclusively on GameCube." - CVG
My predictions? Either Resi 4/5 finishing the series, or lots of games planned but not until GC2/PS3.
Maybe something about the exclusivity of the future of the series? If Nintendo lose this as an exclusive, I'll be mucho annoyed.

Hm, thats a shame. Resi is a really good game. Yeah most people don't even know its been brought out on the GC, if only they advertised..

I saw a Splinter Cell ad in the paper the other day,
"Avaliable for X-Box, PS2."
Then in little writing underneath it said "Also on GameCube and GBA"
Nintendo really need to sort that out.

If Nintendo lose the exclusivity it won't matter...

They're probably going to finish it off. Then in the future, we'll get to see cameo appearances of some characters throughout the series in other Capcom games, and probably a 0 to 4 box set in the moderately distant future for us fans.
