I just bought and paid for a full official brand new version of Microsoft Office Standard Edition 2003, boxed, shrink-wrapped, complete with license from a store.

Has anyone else ever done that?

A family of students eh? Nice to know, especially when my own parents don't even want to learn how to timer the video recorder, or chage the brightness on the TV. Though I find IT stuff boring (how to use spreadsheets, how to use word processors, etc.), I wish your family all the best.

It's a shame that the student version isn't bundled with the newest edition of Access, though hopefully I can use the 2002 successfully with the 2003 package.

Amazon.co.uk, £109.99. A saving of £216.50 off the full price. I only wanted it for Excel but my sister needs it for PowerPoint (she's a student also) and my Mum needs it for Word (she's ALSO a student, at least, so say Microsoft if you sign up for a CLAIT course for a tenner).

Ooh, the first stage into becoming a top science geezer and earning a valuable degree; good luck to you.

Was Office 2003 all wrapped in cellophane? And, and... how much was it? Where did you buy it from? So many questions!!!

P.S. This is a student license I got with it :) I still figure it's a first as most people probably get it off kazaa.

Blah, I'll just wait for the cheapie student version. It may be a first in the UK, but then again maybe not.

By the way, what are you studying in Bristol, FM? Or are you just joing?
