In a few months time, Xbox, and Gamecube will be released in the Uk. With the playstation2 having had a head start..which console will gamers prefer? The great thing about the ps2, is that it is backwards compatible, and plays old Ps1 games. It is likely, that previous playstation owners, will go for this, so that they wont be wasting all their money spent on ps1 games. However, the only bad thing about the Ps2 is....the PRICE! £299 is remarkably expensive, for a console which has a dodgy dvd drive...yes it is true, several owners have been complaining about a "green screen" when playing dvds. Also, who wants a hard drive, for a console? There is no point; you might as well buy a Pc, which is far more powerful. Also, Sony have hardly any plans for online gaming...
Now, moving on to the GAMECUBE! This tiny box (about 3 times smaller than xbox), is more powerful than the Ps2 (as was the N64 with Ps). We all know who won that battle, when it came to good "adult games", so will the Gamecube have a similar destiny? Maybe not..as Nintendo have learnt from their mistakes, and now have mini-dvds instead of old cartridges (finally, a gamecube demo disk!). This will provide cheaper games, as Nintendo quoted will cost no more than £39.99 max! The gamecube, has four controller ports again, as they like to have good support for multiplayer games..unlike Sony, who like to charge for a multitap, just so that four people can play..Anyway, the president of the Nintendo company will do anything to get rid of Nintendo's "Kiddy imiage", so we can expect more "adult games" (tekken has already been confirmed)
Finally, the Xbox..not much has been revealed about this console. However the games look to be good, with Halo being one of the most awaited games. However, other's, such as Malice, look rubbish. Many people have said that as technology gets smaller every year, why the hell is the Xbox so big? Much more is yet to come, though, so don't be surprised is Microsoft start to dominate the console market, as well as the Pc software market..
Zero
S.W.I.V
and uhh
Alien Breed
anyway if amiga made a new console version it would be amazing cuz the amiga 500 ( the first amiga ) beat all pcs around then by price, speed, looks and stability.
If the had a console it would be called the "gamebench"
anyway seeing as the chances of that happening are the same as george micheal being straight. I'll stay with the PS2 as it has a remake of the arcade classic spy hunter and the remake of the amiga classic thunder hawk.
The Amiga?
No hold on...
You like music....
You have hair...
You once new another person...
Am I close?
Anyway, perhaps you should aim for a little more research and a little less bias. No offence, as it was a well writtn post. Just a little practice and you could be a top poster!
The other thing is that your more likely to get listened to in the FOG prime topics.
£299-maybe at launch, it's now £269 and Sony are currently testing the PS2's online capabilities now in Japan.
Tekken confirmed for GC, mmm they'll have to change the contol system because they're aren't enough buttons on the GC controller and the d-pad's in a very arkward place, Namco might release their own tekken pad for the GC.
Adult games on the gamecube, I'll leave that for you to judge *smiles*
