I seem to be stuck with the Freeola holding page as my homepage. I uploaded an index.html file to the htdocs folder to no avail.

:)

Might have done, if I hadn't been aware of them :) I've been keeping tabs (I have the live title on my Firefox toolbar), just can't decide which to go for. It was going to be Amazon vouchers, but they've totally messed up the last one I tried to use, so now I'm not so sure.

But thanks for letting me know regardless :)

Thanks schummi.

bhs, if you can't see /index.html, try /index.html.txt, just to see if Windows added the extra file extension.

Also, are you sure you uploaded to the htdocs folder? When you open up and FTP to your web space, by default you're not in the htdocs folder, but your root directory, so it may be that the file needs to be moved to your htdocs folder.

Also worth checking that you aren't viewing a cached version of the page that your browser has in cache for quick loading.

Press Control + F5 to refresh the page to be sure.

Mind if I ask what your web address is?

Are you sure you've saved your file as index.html - as Windows will sometimes add a .txt extension to a file, meaning you may actually have index.html.txt

Are you able to view your index file if you go to http://www.yourdomain.co.uk/index.html

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.
10/10
Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
