You can compare your popup script with the lightbox treatment I'm using on my recent BrowserChoice page :¬)

I would probably advise going with Hmmm's first suggestion of using something like Lightbox2 or colorbox. Some browsers dislike opening pop-up windows and they can be annoying. Unobtrusive JavaScript on the other hand doesn't harm anyone.

Alternatively, copy and paste from Hmmm's pop-up example.

It looks like you are using FrontPage to make your website, I might advise you take a look into the actual HTML view when inserting snippets of code if you are not already doing so.

Hi lydia,
I'm not sure if you read my complete reply?!?

As I mentioned, I think you need to code width and height.

I've tried changing your script and it works.
I've changed "screenX=200,screenY=100" to "width=660,height=500".

You can view a Working Demo

EDIT: I was using the same image as you - but have just noticed the copywrite is for a different (Freeola) website which may or may not be you?!!! So I've changed the popup to reference my logo...

Hope that helps :¬)

You're still losing me :¬)

I can't see 'preview' in navigation > tutorials ?
I see some text with two links at the end - "on to tutorials" or "just writers inc".
------------------------------------------

After some more clicking I've managed to find a 'preview'! ;¬)

I think we've been here before...???

In the code by 'Popup Maker 5.0' you are using shouldn't there be a width=x,height=x statement?

Unless you really want to use that script, I would suggest trying one of the many excellent free 'lightbox' image scripts available.
Take a look at Lightbox2 for example.

Hi lydia,
I'm not too sure which 'popup preview' you are referring to?

If I view your site as 1280 resolution your iframe and 'navigation' link fit within the background image. But at 1024 they are too far to the right - is this what you mean?

I get this with XP and IE7/FF.

I guess it's all down to the 'absolute' positioning you are using, which isn't something I'm familiar with I afraid.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.

Very pleased with the help given by your staff. They explained technical details in an easy way and were patient when providing information to a non expert like me.
