Only wrestling fans need join, but please could all of you take a good look, and tell me the good and bad points of the site...thanks!
Look, the thing is I'm just sick to death of people asking about a site and I just smile nicely and say it's good. It's not a good site, first time or otherwise.
Oh, a tip, never use frames. Frames are the tool of the devil, for lots and lots of reasons.
Oh and you say you designed your site from top to bottom? It
looks like the message board has been done by someone else, i.e. another company, judging by the advertising on it.
... plus, the "Copyright ©Boardhost" at the bottom kinda gives it away, lol.
What can you two see thats wrong with the blue that I can't???
... just interested as to why it's seems a bad choice to you both...cheers.
The main problem with your site is it seems like some of the content has been done just to impress techies that you know how to do it. For example, changing the colours of the scroll bar and frame borders. Unfortunately, it's about time you realised that true techies already know how to do that, and the sole reason they don't do it is because from an average user point of view, it looks VILE!
Take a step back from your site. Think not from a technical point of view of your CSS achievements, but from a _user_ point of view of what it actually looks like. If you can't do that, then become a programmer like me, instead of a designer ;o)

However I, like Turbonutter, am only judging the appearance of the site. I'm sure lots of wrestling fans will love it so good luck. And don't advertise again. Or I'll go into more detail as to what you need to do. Like get rid of the blue...
I think it's a pretty good first effort. Turbo, you can't expect a Site to be perfect all the time, there’s a big difference between sites like Yahoo and sites done by individuals. Mainly Money, time and experience.
I'm pretty sure the whole Internet could be considered another page to load... but the Flash thing looked ok, and nice move with the Skip Intro link.
Turbo, didn't you say you had a Hit Counter on your site a while ago...telling us about your hits??? huh? huh?? lol. It's cool to have one, 'cus then you can see how your page is doing, not really for visitors to see (or is that just the way I use mine??).
Turbo, the blue box makes your eyes water?? ok, but bet thats the 2:12am kicking in, lol. Though the background looks kinda like part of the Hell in A Cell or the Cage which I've seen on WWF, so guess it does have something to do with Wrestling after all :o).
And to be fair, he didn't really tell people to view it in a certain Res, just said "best viewed" which is different from "View in 1024 x 768 or get lost" ain't it.
Well, we are all entitled to our own opinions, but I don't think is nearly as bad as Turbo likes to make out.
Nice effort mate, keep it up.
It's a crap website. I hate flash intros, as it's just another page to load. The blue box makes your eyes water and don't mess around with scrollbars as it confuses people. The background is unnecessesary and has nothing to do with wrestling. Generally, all backgrounds look crap. Don't use them "because you can".
Why have you got a hit counter? As if we care. You don't see Yahoo displaying how many billions of hits it's had do you? If you must have one, a discreet text number at the bottom is fine. And what's with all this "best viewed at 1024x768" bullcrap? HTML is an open medium, you can't tell someone to view it at a different res. If I said view a site at a higher res than your current one, would you? No, because it crashes PCs sometimes, so why should anyone else. Besides, you really should work to 800x600, because that's a standard resolution. If you can't fit all your stuff into that space, that's YOUR problem. Millions of websites manage it, so should you.
Apart from the poor design, the content's iffy as well. You obviously don't know how to write a dynamic site. Go and learn how. When you can, then consider a fantasy league. Do you really think that if 200+ people joined, you could keep up with it on your own? I don't.
Well, you did ask, there's your reply. Don't like what I said? Life's hard, deal with it.
