Games companies, eh? Who'd have em?

One good game comes along and you happily save up to buy it, then they sneakily release another 3 as you hand your hard earned money over the counter. Pah! Do they have no feelings?

I blame the Playstation. Far too many games all released at the same time. Ok, so a lot of them weren't that good, but there were an awful lot of titles to own, and although all of them weren't 'must have' titles, a lot were 'like-to-have-thank-you-very-much' ones. Bank managers up and down the countries must be sitting back in their comfy chairs, watching as kids pester their parents into buying the next big console or games release and students spend the last of their tuition fees on gaming instead of that all essential can of baked beans.

Of course, some companies don't want to play by the rules, Nintendo decided that they'd save everybody a little money and will hopefully release the Gamecube at a much more reasonable rate. Microsoft are just saving people money by delaying their console, so you may be able to have a bit more time to raise that extra cash needed for their bundles. Sony, of course, reckon that everyone is made of money and tut at any notion of lowering their PS2 console's price to anything lower that its current figure. Even the Gameboy Advance gets in on the act, it releases a fairly good priced handheld, then sells the mini cartridge games for £30 odd. Oh well, there goes another loan...

Well, I suppose there is the option of going without all the new technology and being happy with an old PSX or Saturn, but you could also have a horse and cart instead of a car. Equally desirable. So I continue to scrape the corners of my bank balance and try to keep up to date, while my bank manager does little naked dances in the moonlight, watching all that money fall down around him.

Now, how can I get the government to issue console vouchers?

I think the dome was started by the Tories actually, and it was all civil servants who were doing the research and design and running, it's always ministers who get the blame but there is a lot of distribution in the government. Remember that civil servants are not elected and do not change between governments. I don't think they could have done all those things with that money. Taxes should be raised at the high bands to pay for those who don't earn enough to be able to pay that kind of tax or who don't earn at all. The NHS shouldn't be getting so much funding it's people's health at home that should be dealt with, hospitals give cures not preventative measures. Anyway, many other countries have far higher tax rates than Britain and our low and medium rates aren't too extreme. Remember that your taxes pay for the good of all people in the country, are you so selfish you'd rather keep all the money to yourself. If yes then where will you go when you get mugged, robbed or murdered (well maybe not murdered)? The police? No sorry they aren't funded anymore since there's no tax money to fund them with.

The main problem with government these days is that they are too cautious over looking good, they should just do what's best for people in general whether everyone likes it or not. There are also too many incompetent government employees and perhaps elected representatives who don't live in the real world and understand real problems. Another problem is that people see the lies or part truths that the news shows and believes them. This leads to people thinking things are worse than they are (especially with the news being mostly run by capitalists[Tories]) and it also means people want things that they don't need and don't realise what they really do need.

One tenth of all revenue made from road tax is spent on the roads. 1 sixth of NHS payments are spent on the NHS.

Solution?

STOP FUNDING THE ARMY!

A message to all you squaddies out there - GET A JOB AND STOP BUMMING OFF THE REAL WORKERS OF THIS COUNTRY!

In the barracks near me, they spent over 2 million on a new flight simulator. A) just get a PS2 andget Dropship, B) at least let the public have ago :)

The government sucks.

Did you knowthatthis years Tax Freedom Day is July 10th? (If you add upall the tax you pay in a year on everything, andthen compare it to your salary) JULY 10TH!!!! Ithas risen steadily every year that the Labour government have been in power. But where has it all gone?

The Dome. a very large tent that was filled with rubbish and diddnt last its predicted 12 months.

The Millenium Bridge. Perhaps it will open at the next millenium.

The new government are throwing our money down the toilet without consulting us. The money that the dome cost would have kept a closed hospital running for 8 years. It would have paid state pension for 25 years. It would have fixed every road in the UK, and built the ones that the motorists desperately need. (The domewas up for sale for £1, and nobody wanted it, the Japs were going to turn it into a theme park, which would have been cool, but £1 was too steep)

And to top it all off, they said that if they got in, they would let motorbikes use buslanes legally, and they diddnt. Hmph!

I like the Government for many things; protection of higher powers, grants, etc. However, I don't many other things which can be improved - and somehow, it just feels crappy to be commanded and controlled by a higher power like the Government - with the ability to do nothing about it.

Sadly the government would rather look at what we earn and take half of it. Not fair. You know they say the wages sin pays is death, but here in Britain , it is not much more than a cold.

I can only afford to buy one game every 3 months.
Thank god that Nintendo games last that long.

And there's always Gameaday!

Any advice on what to choose (Gamecube but not Smash Brothers).
