My first ever text based adventure on the 56k Spectrum just happened to be The Hobbit, so for me it looks like gaming is coming full circle again.
There's a low-res demo movie (7MB) on the web from Sierra Online with some nice FMV clips of what's to come. I was a little surprised at the 'low-res' comment, you can actually see fingernails on the hands of some of the characters, I'd have said this was high-res, but maybe the X-Box is capable of even more than I'm hoping at present.
I just hope that they manage to put a package of games together that actually does homage to J.R.R. Tolkien's work rather than detract from it as most other medias have done in the past.
Good news about a LOTR game on XBox. Like you say, I hope they can do it justice.
