3) When I get my motherboard, will I need a manual? i've already ordered one without, so is there somewhere online where I can find one, the mother board is a ASUS A7V266. Also, will the mother board run WindowsME?
2) will this Motherboard run a 1.4ghz AMD Athlon CPU? it says it runs Thunderbird, Palomino and Duron, but is it compatable with a normal Athlon CPU?
3) also, i'm thinking about getting a USB hub, do i need one of these as i'm thinking about getting some USB stuff, what does it do?
i'd be extreemly grateful for any reply, thanks.

You shouldn't need a manual, I've only ever looked at mine once to check multiplier settings...most material is available in .pdf format from the manufacturer's wesbite. Problem is, times you actually need to look at the mobo manual tend to be those when you can't actually get on to the PC to use the internet...
Bear in mind that it's a DDR motherboard, so you'll need to buy PC2100 DDR ram to use on it. Aside from that, you shouldn't have any compatibility problems - I'm not aware of any motherboards that will cause problems with any operating systems, aside from some bios versions with certain linux distributions.

All recent Athlons are Thunderbirds, certainly the 1.4ghz, and it should run fine as the motherboard supports 266mhz FSB. "Up to 1.4GHz+" - As standard, you can use any cpu up to 1.4ghz, but you can overclock them past that with jumper settings (and possibly softmenu, if it's supplied).

Lots of monitors now are supplied with USB hubs attached - this one has 4 USB sockets (Taxan Ergovision 975 TCO99). That motherboard supports 6 USB ports, 2 will be built in, and many companies are now supplying 2 extra ones that you can connect to the motherboard yourself and use in place of a pci slot. You shouldn't really need a hub now - even keyboards can act as hubs - The joys of being able to daisy chain devices...PC > Monitor > Keyboard > Mouse, all form one socket on the actual PC.
