So, i'm sure you'll all agree, that from the 'not-so-good' days of the 64-Bit era, Nintendo are back and stronger than ever. With the Gameboy Advance going stong and the Gamecube, which in many peoples opinion is the best machine out of the lot, speeding over the horizon, Nintendo look set to take over the gaming world, and regain the crown that is so rightfully theirs.

Don't believe me?

Guess who wants to make lots of lots of games for the Gamecube. None other than Mr. Shenmue himself, Yu Suzuki!

""We revealed a while back that Sega's AM2 were working on GameCube but now their president Yu Suzuki has confirmed this and has some interesting words to say about the console.

At a press conference in Japan he said he's "beyond impressed with the GameCube hardware, more so than other consoles" and that he wishes to make many games for it.

So could we see the likes of F350 Challenge, Virtua Fighter and Shenmue on GameCube? Let's hope so!"" ~ WWW.TENDOBOX.COM

And what's this, Playstations precious Hideo(us) Kojima wants to start work on Gamecube as soon as MGS2 is finished?

Nintendo certinly are raking in the big boys!

But boasting aside... you've all got to admit that Nintendo are in a much better position than they were while ago! So we've seen a few delays, but as long as Nintendo get stateside this side of Christmas they'll be laughing, all the way to the bank! SFA and Eternal Darkness have been delayed yes, but seeing that ED was going to be canned and SFA: DP was looking quite bland at E3 I wouldn't worry... they'll be worth the wait.

I'll post more later... feel free to add stuff...

I don't want there to be a dominant platform, otherwise the owner of the market will get greedy and complacent.

Look what GBA games are cosing us.

£35 for a Nes game!

The only way for people to tolerate competing consoles is if companies like Sega, Konami, Capcom and Square (who have atlast resolved their bickering with Nintendo I hear) to make it so that their games can be played across platform online.

How about a battle game on all 3 systems, then the REAL console wars will start.

(And the Nintendo team will WIN! :-D)

Sorry, dude, but that's a crock and the figures show it.

It's a very big 'if' though. Reputations count for a lot these days, and that's where - for the moment at least - Sony are already streets ahead.

> only Nintendo have most other developers

Though they have more developers than for the N64, none of these are exclusive. Most, if not all, are also developing for PS2 and Xbox... in my opinion, that's what they should do anyway.

> and their In-House and 2nd party people. Rare anyone?

Those are only an attraction if you like the games they produce. There are a few games so far that have tempted me to get a 'Cube - none of those are from the internal companies, nor are they 'standard Nintendo fodder'. They're from 3rd parties, who also develope for other platforms, and if those games appear on other platforms at a later date, there's no reason to buy a 'Cube. (My personal opinion.)

> Graphically all the companies seem to be on a level par.

If you're talking raw power, then from what I've read, 'Cube is in third place behind PS2 in second and Xbox in 1st - although in actual appearance, you're right - they're very similar.

> But as for genius and creativity Nintendo will have Kojima

Possibly - but certainly not exclusively, which again flaws your argument.

> Nintendo will have all the success of the PSX

how do you work that out? Even PS2 has a long way to go to 'have all the success of PSX', and it has a year and around 12 million units head start!

Sorry dude - I'm sure GameCube will be successful, and I'm sure that many 3rd-party companies will develop for it, but it won't be at the expense of the other platforms.

Ant, Konami have always made games for Nintendo like ISS

The original Metal Gear was on the Nes, Metal Gear Solid could have made the N64 if it had fitted onto a cartrige.

As for Sega, read my topic about them splitting. Some devellopment teams might not be supplying to it while others might give it exclusives.
I think that the SOnic team are behind the Gamecube.

MGS2!!! MGS2!!

Anyway, give me proof that Kojima wants to work for Nintendo, he's always been a Sony-man.

Also, who wants Miyamoto? To be honest, I don't want to play Pikmin or Paper Mario, I'd rather play MGS2 or Devil May Cry anyday.

And Sega are making games for PS2 as well...duh.

I agree. Sony have just as much hindered their success through a disappointing machine as they have boosted it by releasing sooner and gaining a larger user-base.

You wait and see!

Is MGS2 out on the PS2 very soon? Yes.

Is MGS2 A PS2-Only game, and has Hideo Kojima confirmed this. Yes.

Will MGS2 be the best game ever? Yes.

Does Ant care about any of the so-called 'innovative' games on the GameCube, when MGS2 is on the PS2. No.

'nuff said. :D :D :D

But "Nothing New" Sony has started annoying casual gamers.

Most were expecting something special out of the £300 machine and the PS2 has quite clearly fallen way behind it's hype.

It still goes anyones way.

You still have a major stumbling point to overcome. The PS2 is already a household name. The PS2 has already gained a foothold on the market of next gen consoles. And the PS2 already has game making an impact on sales records worldwide (GT3 before anyone shoust and screams). As for the big Hideo Kojima making these coments about the Gamecube, I would like to see them, but no one seems to know where they are.

And as with everything else, in the business as it is today, having good games doesn't sell console to anyone other than fans of that company, image and advertising do that, and "kidie" Nintendo and "Geeky" Microsoft have a major problem in that department.
