Stop whinging about the fact that your tea has gone cold, you should have bloody drunk it when you had the chance, the world isn't against you love, it's nature - tea goes cold.

So why, or why, do female solo artists have to be angry,, and glum?

Alanis Morissette used to go on about finding 10 million spoons when she needed a knife, and how you live you learn.

Meradith Brooks song some of those listy type songs about how much of a witch she was, I think that's what the sog was called, 'Witch', either that or I've changed it because of the darned language filter. ;-)

Natalie Inabruglia such about how 'Torn' she was, and followed it up with a song about 'The bubbles of love we made." Hmmmn very messy.

Then there was that bird that sang "What if God was one of us?"

Well if God was one of us lil' lady he'd hunt you all down, and take away your guitars. Maybe he'd give you all a lollipop, and show you that the world isn't all against you.

Maybe then you'd cheer up.

Anyway enough from me, I've got tea to drink.

They would have to make sure they used fairy liquid when doing the dishes, can't have them getting problems with their nimble little guitar playing hands.

But if they put some make-up on and bought themselves a pretty frock they could make some young man a lovely little wife.

Anyway I would much rather listen to any ofthe atists mentioned than other comparable female vocalists, have you herd Louises new (covered) song? I rest my case.

I like Alanis and I like Meredith Brooks. Got all the albums (except AM's two early ones).

And Dido's album is fantastic - well, I think so.

I watch Roswell high and loved the theme immediately. Got the album and loved it. Then she was on Eminem's 'Stan' - another class song.

Oh well, each to their own, I suppose.

Ironic was a good song though, you have to at least respect the little bit of talent that she does/did posess. Even if her best stuff was so obviously written when she was suffering from PMS.

At least she found a creative way to vent that stress.

She still needed a scrub and a smile.

Take more than Kevin Smith to make me listen to her premenstrual crap again.

She had one of the best appearances in a film ever. She played God in Dogma, and how well did she do it, she was like an autistic child really, quite a strange way to portray a God figure, but it worked well with the film.

They just haven't met the right man yet, that's all.

It's just a commercial thing, the boys get tattoed chimps in shorts shouting "Parents are mean! School sucks! Be Angry!"

Girls get "Hey, life sucks when you're you doesn't it? The tempestous raging life-experience that threatens to pull you down and remove your identity as an independant woman"

Boys: Simple, angry teen-shouty

Girls: Meaningful, wistful longing for maturity
