OK, so life isn't going to great. Work really isn'to great. You come home to upset kids and a bust wife. The bills have come through but the finance is low. The sresses of life- we could all do without them, but as much as we hate it, they are always there!

This stress, you need to get rid of it one way or another. You may need a holiday, but it costs a fair amount of money. You could take the wife and kids out for something special, but once again, money may be a problem.

What could be your next option. Walk down the local video store and hir yourself a movie. What a good idea! Its is not very costly, and you can pick from a wide vareity of videos that suit you.

So now you have your video, put it in the video player and enjoy.

Whilst your watching this video- amazingly all life little problems seem to disappear. You are taken to a new world. Suddenly you have become the main star of the film. Its you who is fighting for your country or battling agaisnt big giants.

For the duration of the film- your life doesn't exist. There is nothing around you but thje world your mind has created from this film.

Films are great this way, they can help you relax, they help you relive stress, they dont cost alot and they are often very entertaining.

So does anyone here, when feeling down puts on there favortie video to cheer them up? what effects to films have on you?

Thanks for reading

If I came home and found my wife 'bust' I think I'd sooner visit the A&E rather than the local Blockbuster.....

Many films have an effect on me. A cartoon one always works best though. A goofy movie rules!

Sounds like Trixy and Dixy might be good at cheering people up

Seriuosly though, The Princess Bride always brings me back up if things are going a bit pants.

I recently purchasde "It's a Wonderful Life" on DVD (I'm fairly sure I got the last available copy in the world, or maybe just Hull? But anyway...)
This film brings most people back up from their various pits of despair and I'm no different. It's what I would call bringing out the big guns.
On the off chance that The Princess Bride doesn't fix me, Frank Capra, James Stewart and Donna Reed always will!

Well, I watched this film called "Trixy and Dixy go mud wrestling" and I don't think I want to share the effects it had on me.

Yea, ypour dead right. A good film really does drag you inand can lighten you or depending on the film really leave you envolved with the issues or plots envolved. I particuarly like films that leave me thinking afterwards because it means i've taken something from the movie and that the movie has reached me. Genewrally fiulms are entertaining in an all encapturating way so absolutly they are a great mind distracter aswell as often being a mind opener.
