Throughout the movie, Ryder has constant flashbacks of events that have happened earlier on in her life. These are done very well, sparked off by something that happens around her or by something that is said.
The film is never boring but it is never really overly exciting either. However, this is not what the film sets out to do and it is still very entertaining and fun to watch, especially if you like Anjolina Jolie.
The film is presented wonderfully on DVD with some good extra features including deleted scenes, commentary and a making of. The picture quality is good rather than great and the sound is very impressive.
Overall, Girl Interrupted is not a must buy title but it is definitely worth a look and with a good selection of extras, it is certainly a better choice than some of the other DVDs out there.
(Girl, Interrupted is not available from SR but Columbia Tristar have an offer on right now where you can get this and another DVD for only £20)
