Last night I had a vision. A supreme daydream. A delusion of grandeur.
Now that Sega are publishing their games on the PS2, GameCube & XBox, imagine if they decided in some wild moment of madness to collect all their Arcade & Console Classics into one ultimate gaming package.
The game in question would retail at around 100 quid, and my fanciful vision ran along these lines:

(You would have to complete each Level in order before moving onto the next.)

*Level 1*
Complete all the 'Action Stages' from Sonic Adventure in under a set time limit.

*Level 2*
Complete House Of The Dead 2.

*Level 3*
Attain an 'Awesome License' ($10,000) on Crazy Taxi.

*Level 4*
Complete Virtua Tennis in Arcade Mode.

*Level 5*
Catch a fish over a certain weight in Sega Bass Fishing.

*Level 6*
Attain a 'Jet' ranking on the Shibuya-Cho city in Time Trial Mode on Jet Set Radio.

*Level 7*
Complete Confidential Mission.

*Level 8*
Complete 18 Wheeler American Pro Trucker on Arcade Mode.

*Level 9*
Attain a 'Crazy License' ($20,000) on Crazy Taxi.

*Level 10*
Complete Zombie Revenge.

They say genius and madness are closely linked. Are Sega crazy enough to do it? Nearly but not quite. Oh well, back to daydreaming....

Most definately, but there are more to come so maybe you should get some rest before you go buying any Sega games on other consoles.

On PS2 it would go down like the proverbial storm. But it won't happen, so why did I write it? I don't know. Perhaps I've over-dosed on Sega games...?

Oh I don't know, but I did say that since many were full games it might be good value. Still would they release it on the DC where most people will have most of these games?

What d'you mean? 100 quid for 10 levels of this quality would be a bargain!

That doesn't sound good, only Ten levels for £100? Are you insane? Still, a couple of them are pretty big, full games even. I think you could just buy all the games and play them, then you get the whole thing and all the parts of the games you miss out.

It would be great, but somehow I do not really think it will ever happen. However, for the next generation of consoles, or possibly the one after that it could happen. Probably not but at we can live in hope.

I had a similar dream about Nintendo releasing all the Mario games on one GBA cartrige which would be priced at a modest £25.

They decided to screw everyone by releasing the weakest one in the series (Mario 2) for a hefty £35!

Talk about shattered dreams.

Consequently, I hope that no one ever dominates the console market.

If either Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft took control, goodbye value for money!

I scribbled this on here when I was under the influence. Reading it back, I must admit it is a tad fanciful.
