Zelda 2 was an RPG with platforming additons.

Mario Brothers 2 is in fact a japanese game called Doki Doki Panic but released over here with Mario characters.

The next Zelda sequel is in development and shown at E3 next year BUT considering no screenshots have been released of it how you can say it looks crap I don't know.

Well,a platformer it was, if every game shown from a side-on perspective is a platformer by default.

Oh well.

Zelda 2 wasn't an RPG though, it had far more in common with a platformer. Was, by Nintendo's own admission, a rush job that got nothing like the care and attention of the other Zelda titles, in the same manner as Mario Bros 2 c.f. all the other Mario platformer titles.

I don't know why people dislike Zelda 2 so much, it was one of the most enjoyable RPGs I've played. Probably the only RPG I played on the NES.

As for Mario 64 being the same as Mario Kart Double Dash, I certainly hope not, given that Mario 64 never really excited me. But the gameplay looks far superior in DD, and so I will be buying it on friday. Where I will be buying it from is still a matter of some dispute.

Yes, Zelda 2 isn't the most promising of titles, but it is considered the worst Zelda game in the series' history.

Oh, you weren't talking about ports?

Well the next true Zelda game, as far as I am aware, isn't in development yet. Nintendo are just releasing a couple spin-offs first.
