What kind of games were we playing then?
We were playing games that had lines on a screen with one level and no moving about. just like shooting things as they went past in the sky. slowly.
now if we were playing that 20 years ago what are we going to be playing in another 20 years time? it may even be virtual reality deathmatches in suits or something like that.
we can't just stay on this level of gaming for ever so what will it be like in another 20 years time? answers please?

Well... who knows...
did u pick up on my deliberate mistake though?:
"Well, in order to be able to play true 2d games, a new interface has to be invented... something that will surpass current controllers. "
2D games??? Maybe I meant 3d.. hmnmmmm
After that someone will have to find a way to actually have 3d environments... holograms? Direct Spinal interaction?
And finally, huge networked gaming (and indeed, non-gaming) worlds that stem from the internet will be developed. So, instead of typing in a chatroom, you will actually see a digital repressentation of people, and talk to them face-to-face.
Who knows? Maybe eXistenZ will be created?
