Right, when you turn the playstation 2 on and go into the settings, there are some for the playstation. One for the speed and one for the Texture (it says normal or smooth to choose from). I looked in the manual and it does not say much, so does anyone know what they really do and which if any games work with changing it? Thanks.

yeah especially 2D games like street fighter alpha 3 where it wont even let you into the main menu.

Texture mapping will use part of the emotion engine to join up the "squares" in other words your PSone graphics will look alot better.
