anyone see the program on open university? its called movie science or something.
they test the stunts or marvels the do in the movies..a couple of weeks ago it was Die Hard,you know the bit when McClain jumps off of the roof with a fire hose tied around his waste...well they tied an exact hose around a huge bucket of water and filled it up to see how much it would stretch..after filling it up with nearly a tonne of water the hose stretched less than a centimetre!!!...which means if John McClain actually did that in real life ..he would be snapped in half instanly.
ooo you know the Jacki Chan film..i think its shang-hi noon he is in a prison cell and he escapes by taking off his shirt and then peeing on it...he loops the shirt through the bars and twists it to tighten it up then using a leg from the newly broken chair the twists the shirt which causes the bars to bend!!! allowing him to escape.
this trick was also on that movie science show and...low and behold it actually works.
so if you ever need to jump off of a buildin roof top take a bungi cord with you dont use the fire hose...
and if you find yourself in a western jail cell dont use the john..pee on your shirt break the cleché wooden chair and run...run like the wind!
