Right, I still can't find any evidence of a release date for the AKIRA Special Edition DVD for the UK anywhere. Is it even coming out over here of are Pioneer going to deny the UK one of the best movies of all time?!? Could someone please shed some light on this, at least tell me if it's going to be released here at all (Keeping in mind that buying online isn't an option for me).

I never have seen the point in doing things like that, I mean if its something to do with Star Wars or something like that then maybe, but a Manga DVD how long would you have to wait for that to be worth a lot of money.

Due to the vast increase in value a number of years down the line, its limited edition which means the price will sky rocket (in theory) if its not opened.

But still, I see what you're saying.

(i have teh R1 Akira limited edition tinned box-set....BUT..i havent opened it yet and ive had it for a month but cant bring myself to do it!!!! its still in the wraper Might buy another version of it)

Akira IS coming out over here!!!!!

It will hit the shelves in October at the very earliest and should have all the extras (but I'm not 100% about the tin box)


..and YES Ghost in the Shell is and has been out on DVD for some time now.
