I have a Spectrum at home and it's great but sadly can't compare with the new consoles. It was released in 1984 but I was still playing games on it in 1996! It had loads of game releases like the most popular "Finders Keepers". I could never complete any games on it though apart from MR Freeze which took me 5 years and a lot of dedication. I have over 130 games plus a Terminator Joystick and still sometimes play it. There was one bad thing about it though, The loading time could take more than 20 minutes for complex games.

When they were released, consoles like N64 and Greystation weren't out. therefore they were good at the time and in my opinion some are still good now. E.G. I-BALL II was a good platform game which had the most colours and gameplay without crashing.

Ok, I own a ZX Spectrum, and I'll even admit I still use it sometimes, but that's only to see how far consoles have come. Recently I have found that certain games can't be completed, such as Dizzy 3+6. You have to find Coins on one and Cherries on the other, you CAN rescue Daisy and your other mates, but at the end, Daisy tells you that you have to get her 30 coins to buy a new house (Fair enough). On Dizzy 6 (Dizzy Prince Of The Yolkfolk) you have to find her a load of cherries to make Granddizzy a nice cherry cake (???). Sometimes I enjoy going back to the basic games, but come on, they aren’t any good really…
