Sad news about one of the best football commentators there ever was. He will always be remembered!! R.I.P

That was the commentary I will always remember but for the wrong reasons!!

That was such a mad game. I remember we played Liverpool in the Charity Shield a couple of months later and Steve McMahon was absolutely slaughtered by the Arsenal fans - with taunts of one minute, one minute, one minute. That was in reference to Steve McMahon telling all the Liverpool players that there was just one minute to go (pointing one finger at all his team mates). Brian Moore commentated "One minute to go, McMahon's got the word from the Kop.". Fifty seconds later Thomas had scored THAT goal to clinch the title. Pure theatre and Brian Moore's commentary on the night was magnificient. Just a pity he had to suffer David Pleat alongside him as a so called 'expert' co-commentator.

Thanks for the memories Brian.

Yep, sad news indeed. Lots of memories of commentary over classic football matches (mainly European ones).

Sounds kind of corny, but he had the character of a favourite uncle. There aren't many TV presenters/commentators coming through now who I would say are genuinely likeable.
