Nintendo has announced that the next Pokemon game will ship on completely new hardware, dubbed as the Pokemon Mini.
While the machine itself is quite small, the hardware is much more advanced then it’s older counter-part. Not only is the LCD display sharper (although still black & white), but also now has the ability to accept custom designed cartridges. Nintendo should have named the device “Gameboy Mini”.
The little console boasts a variety of features:
Shock Sensor – Registers the number of times you shake the device.
Infrared port – Compete in Pokemon battles with up to 5 machines at once.
Built-In Rumble Pak – So you can “feel the power”.
96x64 LCD display - About 1/3 the total resolution of the GBA.
Currently, the system has a total of 4 cartridges.
It’s disappointing however that Nintendo is forcing us to buy another device to play the latest Pokemon game after shelling out £80 for the GBA.
