I turned it on, nothing appeared on my monitor. I waited for a couple minutes, and still nothing.
I turned off the power and re-turned it on. Almost immediately a black screen appeared with the writing:
"We are very sorry but Windows XP failed to start. Please select one of the following options using the arrow keys and enter."
It listed Safe Mode, Continue, and Start Windows with previous working settings.
So it appears that the new blue is black!

tip - monitors are best slapped from the side, rather than punched head on. screens are tougher than they let on.
Restarted PC due to it freezing. Was greated with an error along the lines of "The file system/system32/config is corrupt
Had to reinstall the first time and lost a lot of stuff. Two days later it happened again, found some sites that helped me to get it back on and do a system restore.
Made the blue screen of death a happy sight..
