Now I haven't been keeping up with handheld/palm devices so this appears to have come out of the blue.
Here's the blurb:
------------------------------------------------------
* Get console quality gaming with analog controller, integrated triggers and action button array [it has a better interface than N-gage]
* Play wireless with up to 8 players using built in bluetooth
* Listen to MP3s on stereo speakers or included earbuds [earbuds = headphones + marketing crap]
* Watch videos and view your photo library on the big, hi-res, backlit color display
* Manage your claendar and contacts. Create Microsoft Word compatible documents
* Choose from more than 19,000 Palm OS applications
-------------------------------------------------------
So it's a Palm based gaming system with bells and whistles which is powerful enough to run Tony Hawks 4 and has the cash to take out fullpage ads on the inside cover of magazines.
Is this a threat to the GBA and are Microsoft throwing their weight behind it?
There's an interesting quote at the top of the page which reads:
"GBA eat your heart out"
- official XBOX Magazine July, 2003
So what do you lot think?
If you ask an adult about what the palystation 2 is he or she will surely know that it is a console for games.
And if no one buys the tapwave, the lan mode will in a way not be so important.
But one good thing is that the little black wonder has many games announced.
Games like Doom, Duke Nukem, Neverwinter nights, Spyhunter and Tony hawk 4 just to name some of them will keep a gamer busy for a long time.
"A PDA that just wants to have fun, the Zodiacs massive 9cm screen, super fast processor and graphics chip means its got the kind of performance the GBA can only dream of as well as N-gage-matching bluetooth wireless multiplayer and MP3 play back. The main problem is lack of decent games, with Spy hunter and Tony Hawks the only titles you'll have heard of from an already sparse selection"
Sounds good but only availble in USA (unless buying online)and costs $299.
Anyone know about the GP32 which is available on import from south korea?
I doubt that it will have success if no one knows about it even it has many interesting games up in its sleeves.
And since it also can use emulators I think that it is a great choice rather than the weird-looking n-gage or the out-dated gba
The website www.tapwave.com is a great site for zodiac info.
