Can anyone help, we have a PS2 and have tried 3 different multitaps but none of them work, they recognise the controllers but not the memory card, the most recent failure was with the sony multitap which read the memory card but the controllers didn't work.
Sounds like you have problems with you're PS2 then.
Its a PS2 multitap.
Firstly, might seem an odd question, but is the Multitap a PS1 Multitap or a PS2 Multitap?
If its a PS1 Multitap then there might be problems with swapping the different version of the equipment.
If its a PS2 Multitap, and all 3 have had problems, then its something wrong with your PS2 i would say. Something inside its not working right as it cant read your pads or the memory cards. Try the simple stuff, clean the sockets ect. If it still doesnt work, might be worth calling the Sony Helpline to see about getting it repaired/getting a new one.
