I've got the speakers etc, I use them for my DVD player.
Is it easy? Do I need to purchase more peripherals to do this?
One of you techheads will know.
If I hadn't acquired said surround sound system and DVD player through manipulation of Curry's cover plan terms and conditions, I wouldn't own it at all.

So theres just one lead from the DVD player to the woofer? If so I would have thought it would be an optical lead. Then you will only need to get the official RGB lead and bobs your uncle. Plus the RGB lead will give you great picture, think terrestrial to Sky.

It's 5 satellite speakers and a bass woofer.
Each plugs into the back of the bass unit, and leads from the woofer into the back of the DVD.
That's as far as I get technically.
Thanks for the advice, I can't be bothered to spend more money just to play a couple of console games in surround.
It was just in case all I needed to do was swap some leads over.
Ta though

But the PC system would have to be optical. XBox only takes optical 5.1 from the Scart lead.
So Goatboy does your 5.1 system have a optical link on the back at all? Also is your 5.1 system built in with a decoder or is it just speakers and know decoder? If you answer yes to those 2 questions just stick an optical lead in the 5.1 system and the other end into the offical RGB scart and your sorted. If you havent got a optical lead then thats another £10 or more for a decent lead.
there's a much better lead you can buy which has far more 'bits' to it, including a plug so you can attach it to a projector and a regular stereo should you wish.

much better than your official scart in my opinion (I bought the official one first, then got this later)
Balls to it, it's just a console.
I've got surround on my PC and downstairs on the DVD, that'll do.
I cannot be arsed with lead after lead after lead just to play a couple of games with big rumbly sound.
That goes into Xbox then into TV.
But my 5.1 system has a load of leads that plug into the back of my DVD player, then scart from that to TV.
How on earth is this lead going to make Xbox 5.1? What am I connecting all the leads from the speakers to?
Eh?
*shakes fist*
Damn new fangled technology
Bloody ridiculous. Thanks though.
